In May 2025, OII Europe’s member organisation CIA-OII France, launched the FS2I, the International Intersex Solidarity Fund. This fund was created in response to the many requests for help and support that intersex organisations at national level receive from intersex people abroad who need to flee their homes due to the discrimination, violence and exclusion that they face, sometimes in combination with war or ongoing conflict in their home country.
Migratory routes are extremely dangerous, even more so for intersex people who find themselves at the intersection of numerous discriminations. The difficulties do not end with the crossing of borders but continue in the host countries, and intersex persons often find themselves in a situation of isolation: comprehensive support is therefore crucial.
The goal of the FS2I is to raise funds to support intersex refugees and asylum seekers, and to respond to their urgent care and emergency support needs (e.g medical care, food, housing or visa costs). The FS2I is overseen by CIA-OII France, with support from OII Europe where necessary.
