Fullfilling the rights of intersex people

Human Rights Council – 60th session side event

Date and Time: 17. September 2025 12:00 – 01:00 PM CEST
Location: Room VIII, Building A, Palais des Nations, Geneva

Join us for a critical event addressing the human rights of intersex people!

Bodily integrity concerns us all. Everyone should be able to make informed decisions about their bodies. Yet, intersex people worldwide still face harmful practices and exclusion.

Together, we will address how States can create laws, policies, and reforms that prioritise the rights of intersex persons, and create bold calls to action for future engagement in UN mechanisms to ensure dignity, choice, and justice for all – regardless of sex characteristics.

The event is co-hosted by

  • African Intersex Movement (AIM)
  • ILGA World
  • InterAction for Health and Human Rights
  • Intersex Asia
  • IPPF
  • Outright International
  • Sexual Rights Initiative (SRI)
