
Theme: Strengthening Our Movement
Held on 27th-29th of September, 2024
With over 140 registrants the event hosted many intersex people, families, allies & activists from 25 countries across Europe, Central Asia and Maghreb region participated in the event under the theme “Strengthening our movement”.
The OII Europe Online Community Event was held on 28 and 29 of September 2024.
Topics of session included, among others (2 tracks, 14 session total):
- Intersex Advocacy Updates Session
- Current Issues Faced by Intersex Movement
- Strategies to Help Prevent or Alleviate Burnout
- Collaborations with other movements
- Communication tools
- EU funding
- Intersex Journeys
Topics of sessions included a mixture of new capacity building topics and relevant topics in the focus of the community.
The Public Conference was held on 27 of September 2024, before the two Community Event days to allow a larger number of participants to join due to being held during working hours.
The program of the Public Conference included invited speakers, policy makers and researches, specifically:
● Welcome by Kristian Ranđelović, Co-chair of OII Europe
● Keynote speech by Michael van Gelderen, human rights officer at the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR)
As well as two panels:
Misinformation on Intersex Issues Throughout Europe and the Actors Involved Panel – facilitated by Irene Kuzemko, with speakers:
